Shivaji Maharaj


Shivaji Maharaj was the real hero of India. He started the first national independence movement. He teached  the real meaning of ‘Swarajya’. Shivaji maharaj revolt against slavery ruler of Mughal and Adilshahi and finally established his own Swarajya.

Shivaji borned on 19 feb 1630 at fort Shivneri near Pune. At his early life, he was inspired by his Mother Jijabai to establish ‘swarajya’. Shivaji captured ‘Torna fort’ at 1645 at the age of 16 years and challenged Adilshahi Sultanate.later on he captured all area around Pune. After capturing Jawali and Raigad fort, he became serious threat for Adilshahi kingdom.

At 1559, Adilshahi Begam sent her Superior general ‘Afzal Khan’ with 40,000 well prepared army along with cannons, heavy cavalary. but he was killed by Shivaji. After victory on  Afzal Khan he expanded his kingdom rapidly.

Now he took nearly all western Maharashtra and Konkan area. After defeat of Afzal Khan Adilshah send another grand army of numbered 45,000 under his trusted general ‘Siddi Jauhar’. And same time Mughal Emperor ‘Aurangzeb’ sent army of 75,000 under his general Shahista Khan to conquer his kingdom. Shahista khan blocked area around Pune. Siddi Jauhar encamped shivaji at Panhala fort near Kolhapur. 

But shivaji  succeed to escape from siege and he regather his army at fort Vishalgad, and now siddi jauhar stopped his expedition against shivaji and he was send some other expedition in Karnatka. 

Shahista Khan send a band of 30,000 army to capture forts from konkan, but he was defeted by Shivaji at Battle of Umberkhind without loosing single fort. In 1662 Shivaji decided a very riskful plan to kill Sheista khan. Shivaji and his some of his some generals encountered shaista khan at his residence in pune. during which he was escaped but he lost his fingeris. The effect of this expedition was that Shahista khan immediately left Pune. 

Now Shivaji Maharaj takes serious raid on Mughal land including Amhednagar and Surat.........
